Logotype for art education

The project for RYSUN included the design of a logotype for an art education initiative run by Krzysztof Zdanowski, an illustrator and artist. The logotype was developed through a close design dialogue. Successive proposals were drawn, discussed, reworked and refined until the form matched the character of the studio.
¶ The aim was to combine the energy of drawing, street art, graffiti, comics and urban culture with precise lettering design. The final form retains the freedom of a hand-drawn gesture, but is resolved into controlled, typographically conscious letterforms. The project shows how collaboration with an artist can become a dialogue between illustrative intuition and the discipline of letter design.
